Project design: Renzo Piano Building Work Shop
In Trento a new multipurpose centre located in an 11-hectare area on the Adige River
The wide 11-hectare area on the Adige River in Trento, initially an important Michelin factory's location, is now the main element of the noteworthy urban requalification project ever created in the district, promoted by Castello SGR: "Le Albere", which in the dialect of Trento means poplars and that around 1500 were part of the boulevard entrance of the 16th-century Palazzo delle Albere, located here.
Renzo Piano is the personage who will be working on this ambitious project, which aims at revitalising a significant area of the city that is very close to the old town centre, giving Trento the possibility to relate to its river. Colombo Costruzioni SpA, leader of the Trento Futura Scarl consortium, will be the project's General Contractor. The role of "Le Albere" is not just to be a new neighbourhood, but the expansion of the old town in a more modern design.
